Done for the day...maybe I'll find a movie to watch, eat some dinner.
Be back in the morning...

Excerts from a funny list:
You know you are a huge PJ fan when:
-When Snoop Dogg references the LBC, you just assume he's talking about "Love Boat Captain" and are impressed that he's a Pearl Jam fan.
-You recognize other artists only by what they have done with PJ or if PJ has covered one of their songs.
-The only pick-up line you use is, "So do you like Pearl Jam?"
-You feud with Creed fans.
-You're heartbroken that there's no hidden song on Riot Act
-You don't agree with all of Ed's socialistic/idealistic political views but it doesn't bother you a lick 'cause the music is what speaks to you.
-You named your dog "Pilate".
-Your friends tell you that every time they hear a Pearl Jam song they think of you.
-You listen to Stupid Mop, without wincing.
-You buy the Jeremy single only to skip Jeremy and listen to Footsteps and Yellow Ledbetter.

This from CNN:
"It includes nine minutes before and four minutes after re-entry, and ends about 11 minutes before Mission Control lost the signal from the doomed orbiter. Shuttle crews usually record their entire return flight to landing, but "we believe the rest of the tape was destroyed during the mishap," Altman said."
What are the chances there is more to the tape and we just aren't being told/shown?

I've been working on senior design for 3 hours now. Boring is all I can say.
I hope my email edit worked...if it did, anyone that finds this page feel free to drop me a note.
Something about this rubs me the wrong way.
"In releasing a draft list of two dozen crimes that will be subject to prosecution in military trials for accused terrorists, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said he would not rule out bringing Iraqis accused of committing war crimes before such tribunals."
be back later...more to read...

I got my mention on Anton's blog. Awesome...that worked fast than I expected.
I've got to present for my group on Monday. I'm okay with all the actuator, linkage and materials stuff...but I really need to get more familiar with the sensor and myoelectric information. I really don't want to look like an ass when i get questions from the professors. The idea of interfacing with the peripheral nervous system to control the hand is really cool. I still think we should put the clip from Episode II that shows Anakin's new hand...we could call it our ideal result.
My dad called me and the first question from him was "What color boat do you want?"
Maybe a nice red, black and white UGA inspired boat. I can't wait to float for stripers or smallmouth in it.
...off to happy hour

I still haven't heard back from Wayne Farms. Its only been 3 days...I guess I'll follow it up aftre class with a "Hey did you get my resume, can I have an interview" letter. Translation (money, money....I want money.)
This story has been disturbing from the beginning. Now its fuding of "research projects" for a"terrorism knowledge base."
what a load of crap
I don't know how all this stuff works, so here's my next attempt at linking and putting Anton Sherwood's site on here. Can google find my page? Who knows.
I'm just looking for a pitty mention in a blog....

From MSNBC
"One day before the Columbia disaster, senior NASA engineers worried that the space shuttle’s left wing might burn off and cause the deaths of the crew, describing a scenario remarkably like the one investigators believe ultimately happened. They never sent their warnings to NASA’s brass."
Ok...who's suprised? There's talk that the stuff wasn't foam, but maybe ice. NASA also wanted to get satellite images of the shuttle, but decided not to because they didn't want to cry wolf.
This is a great quote: "Robert Daugherty, asked, 'Any more activity today on the tile damage or are people just relegated to crossing their fingers and hoping for the best?' The response: 'I have not heard anything new.'"
So basically what we have here is an outdated shuttle, something goes wrong and NASA tells us it had no idea that anything was going to happen...that nobody had even considered it. Now weeks later, when almost no one is paying attention...info slowly trickles out that people were worried.
And my friends wonder why I don't like the government.

I've decided that I'm going to link to Anton Sherwood's site to see if I can get mentioned. He's got some cool "mathematical beauties" and a great campaign speech that ends with "For better government, vote Lazy." He always adds something of interest to the Armchair listserv.
There is nothing here of interest to read yet, but maybe I'll get a pity mention.
Check him out at....
***edit***scratch that, I'm still trying to figure out how to link, when I do, I'll put a link up. Can I put up a permanent "links page" with this thing?***end edit**
**ANOTHER EDIT...links, glorious links**

1st post to this blog. Now I can put "published" on my resume...
I'm interviewing for a job at Wayne Farms LLC, I hope there is enough engineering stuff to do there to keep me interested. As a plus (if I got the job) they want you to get a masters, they pay for it and its a managment track/training position.
The downside...it chickens -> Cue to the guy in "Chicken Run" screaming "THE CHICKENS ARE REVOLTING," finally...something we can agree on.
Back to work...
